Description and Services:

Focus for Work provides individual and group employment preparation services, job development services, and post-employment support for adults diagnosed with mental illness. Services include:

• Vocational assessment
• Job readiness (resume writing, interviewing skills, cold calling)
• Job development and placement
• Job coaching and follow-along support for 90 days after placement

Eligibility and Requirements: 

• Individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and receiving services from the Santa Clara County Mental Health Department and /or contracted County mental health Providers.
• A referral form confirming diagnosis, signed by a licensed therapist or psychiatrist, must be forwarded to the program before the interested individual can attend the program orientation.
• Adults (18 and over)
• Residents of Santa Clara County
• Desire to work

Hours and Availability: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 2625 Zanker Road, Suite 101, San Jose.  Orientation is Tuesdays at 1: 00 p.m. The following sites are open only Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 1215 First Street, Gilroy, (408) 842-3404.
