Description and Services:
Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is leading a campaign to cut poverty in half by the year 2020.  Our mission is to create the will to achieve this vision by:

  • Increasing awareness and motivating government, religious, business, academic, service providers and community leaders and organizations to sign on to the campaign;
  • Building capacity through partnerships;
  • Shaping public policy through advocacy;
  • Increasing private and public funding;
  • Integrating systems to promote ease of access and greater service coordination to prevent and mitigate poverty and its effects.

Key issues include:

  • Affordable housing
  • Universal Health Care
  • Food security
  • Access to education
  • Asset-building through employment and savings
  • Job creation and employment at a living wage
  • Immigration reform
  • Work supports and safety net services for vulnerable populations.

Eligibility and Requirements: Commitment to poverty prevention, reduction and mitigation.

Fees: There may be a registration fee for an event such as Lobby Day.

Hours and Availability:

  • Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Program hours:  Days, evenings, and weekends, by appointment
