FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM

Summary of services:

• Supplemental income for seniors dedicating 20 hours per week to special needs children

• Tax-free stipend of $53 per week ($2.65 per hour)

• Transportation allowance

• Daily meal

• Accrue sick/vacation time

• Annual physical exam

• Accident/liability insurance

Who is eligible?

• 60 years of age and older

• Low income (based on Federal Poverty Level)

• Reasonably healthy

Service sites and hours of operation:

• Service hours are defined by site need (e.g., schools generally include morning hours)

• Hospitals, Children's Shelter, Juvenile Hall can be at any time of day/evening

• Foster Grandparent Program Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
